There are so many worthy causes in communities across the country. Depending on our individual experiences and area we all have causes that are close to our heart. Below are a few of mine with general information and any resource information I have collected.

Multiply Myeloma Awareness

Multiple Myeloma is a form of cancer that may not be as well known as other cancers yet it is just as devastating. Visit here to learn more. We lost my father-in-law in February of 2011. He fought a courageous battle and is sorely missed. Cancer of any type is a devastating disease not only for the patient but for the family. Cherish everyday and never pass up an opportunity to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you!

Support your local Farmer's Market!

It seems like every other day there is a recall for food! It is downright scary! Your local farmer's market offers a variety of locally grown food and homemade items. Don't miss out on this resource for healthy homegrown food and unique artisan crafts!! Not only that but you can also support your local economy! It is true that you may pay a bit more per pound BUT it is fresher and will last longer once you get it home so there is less waste saving you money in the end! Support your local market and if there isn't one in your community then start one! EAT FRESH SHOP LOCAL!

YRSuicide Prevention

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline can be found here. If you or if you think someone you know is contemplating suicide please seek immediate help.

 SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!

Never forget that the men and women serving in our military are willing risking their lives to protect the freedoms we all enjoy as Americans! They are someone's loved one. THANK A SOLDIER!

Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Awareness

I spent many years working in victim services in the domestic violence/sexual assault field. It is a societal issue that crosses all barriers. Anyone can be a victim, even you. Help is available in nearly every community. Every state has a coalition to address domestic violence and/or sexual assault. The Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence can be found here. The Arkansas Coalition Against Sexual Assault can be found here. The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence can be found here. The Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network (RAINN) can be found here.

If you or someone you know is a victim, please seek help! You are not alone and it is NOT your fault!
